      Cat insurance FAQs

Can I insure more than one pet with Petplan®?

If you're lucky enough to have more than one pet in your life, you can insure them all for less with Petplan® multi-pet insurance. It doesn't matter whether they're a dog, cat or rabbit – for each animal you’ll receive a £12 discount per pet on your premium. So, if you're insuring two pets together, you'll get £24 off your plan a year. Three pets would be £36, etc. This discount applies for every year all your pets are insured together.

How do I make a claim?

In most cases, your vet can submit an e-claim on your behalf. If your vet can't do this, or if you're claiming for anything else, please head to ourclaimspagefor more information.

      What does Covered For Life®mean?

The Petplan® Covered For Life® policies are designed for cat owners concerned about their pet developing a long-term, chronic or recurring illness. Petplan® has Covered For Life® policies for cats, dogs and rabbits. These cover conditions that require treatment over a long period of time or your pet's life, for example, arthritis, eczema and diabetes.

As long as your Covered For Life® policy is renewed each year without a break, Petplan® will continue to provide cover for new illnesses.

Always check the small print before purchasing a pet insurance product to make sure that you get the right type of policy for your pet and that you understand the terms, conditions and excesses that apply.

What are the benefits of a 12 month Essential policy?

Covered For Life® plans might not suit every pet. So Petplan® created the Petplan® Essential policy for cat owners who need a less comprehensive policy. That way, everyone can benefit from the UK's No. 1 pet insurance provider.

It's important to remember that each illness or injury on a Petplan® Essential policy is covered for a maximum of 12 months from the date it occurred. Should your pet suffer from the same condition again, you'll not be able to claim for it. 12 month Essential policies are good for older pets who have exceeded the upper age limit for the Petplan® Covered For Life® policies.

Always check the small print before purchasing a pet insurance product to make sure that you get the right type of policy for your cat, and that you understand the terms, conditions and excesses that apply.
