On 8th June, VERITAS Badminton Club (VBC) held the badminton tournament, VBC Cup 2024 at Kompleks MSN Setiawangsa. Participants from the five tribes (I, D, E, A, S) competed fiercely, but only one tribe emerged victorious. In the women's doubles category, Nurin Qistina and Amira Zakiah from Tribe S claimed first place, with teams from Tribe D securing second and third places. In the men's doubles category, Suhaimi Yunus and Zi Ting from Tribe S took first place, followed by teams from Tribe E and Tribe I claiming second and third place, respectively. Congratulations to all the participants for their outstanding performances and thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of this tournament.

On 10th June, VERITAS Principal Azril Amir Jaafar was featured in Utusan Malaysia, Ringgit Edition. The article "Rumah Pintar Perlu Ada Sistem Sokongan" discussed the importance of ensuring that smart home systems have an easy-to-maintain support system. On 6th June, VERITAS and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) from Hong Kong held a ‘Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) and Transportation Planning Presentation’ event at W Hotel, Kuala Lumpur—a collaborative project between VERITAS and SOM. Peter Brannan and Ian Ralph from SOM focused on TOD and advanced transportation planning strategies, while VERITAS Principal Ng Yiek Seng also shared valuable insights on the topic. VERITAS President David M Hashim joined the discussion during the Q&A session with the audience. The event concluded with a co*cktail reception.

On 4th June, VERITAS Indonesia Principal Andrew Tirta was featured in the Fokus Bernama article titled "Make Low-Cost, High-Rise Housing ‘Greener’, Better Ventilated – Experts." Andrew emphasized the importance of using locally sourced, sustainable materials with good thermal insulation for energy efficiency and highlighted the need for energy-efficient HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems to mitigate urban heat island effects in high-density housing areas.Read More: https://lnkd.in/gQP_8z6n

FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence Awards On 30th May, VERITAS' Petronas Leadership Centre (PLC) was honored with the Silver Award at the FIABCI World Prix d'Excellence Awards held at Singapore's Gardens by the Bay. Redzuan Hamid, Head of the Petronas Leadership Centre, accepted the award on behalf of Petronas. The PLC, designed with sustainability at its core, features innovative green building architecture and technologies that promote collaboration and progress.The award ceremony was also attended by Faizal Razak, Head of Leadership & Capability Development of Petronas, VERITAS Principal Azril Amir Jaafar, and VERITAS Associate Farah Yusof.

On 30th May, VERITAS and Taylor’s University held a Design Charrette session with 25 graduating students at The Loft, VERITAS HQ. The event featured a sharing session by VERITASians, followed by an open discussion, providing a platform for students to engage and showcase their talents. This collaborative initiative aims to strengthen our commitment to nurturing emerging design talent.

On 27th May, VERITAS Senior Associate Miguel Robles led a VERITAS-Taylor’s University Workshop on Resilient Design, engaging with approximately 20 master’s students. The workshop focused on developing community space in a site in Johor Bahru, challenging participants to integrate VERITAS' Resilient Framework with a strong emphasis on the 7 Principles for Resilient Design in Architecture.
